Your Watch Deserves a Careful Hand
At Lanna Horology, we service mechanical and automatic watches with the patience they deserve — no rush, no guesswork, just steady craftwork in the heart of Chiang Mai.
What We Offer
Three Services, One Steady Approach
Each service is carried out by hand, with time set aside for proper inspection and care. No work begins until we understand what the watch needs.
Movement Cleaning & Lubrication
A measured clean and re-lubrication of the movement to ease friction and steady the rate, suited to automatics that have not been serviced in several years. Carried out gently by hand.
- Turnaround around two weeks
- Mainspring and balance health note
- Suited to neglected automatics
Water Seal Renewal
A renewal of gaskets and seals with a pressure check, helping a daily watch stay comfortable around splashes and rain. Often completed within a day, including a clean of the case and crown.
- Pressure test included
- Case and crown cleaning
- Helpful before the rainy season
Heirloom Care Package
A considered package for family timepieces that blends movement servicing with gentle cosmetic care, keeping the watch wearable while respecting its age. Timing is agreed together in advance.
- Written record & before photographs
- Age-respectful cosmetic care
- For sentimental family pieces

Written Records
Heirloom and full-service work comes with a written note of what was done — useful for future servicing and meaningful for pieces with family history.

Common Questions
Things People Often Ask
How do I know if my watch needs a service?
Common signs include the watch running noticeably fast or slow, stopping and starting on its own, or feeling rough when winding. If it has not been serviced in four or five years, a check is usually worthwhile even if it seems to be running fine.
What brands and types of watch do you service?
We work with mechanical and automatic movements across a wide range of brands — Swiss, Japanese, and others. If you are unsure whether we can help with a particular piece, send a message and we will let you know honestly before you bring it in.
How long does a service usually take?
Water seal renewal is often completed the same day. Movement cleaning typically takes around two weeks. Heirloom care timelines are discussed with you in advance, since these pieces often need a more considered approach.
Is there a charge just to have the watch looked at?
No. We inspect the watch and discuss what is needed before any work begins. You are under no obligation to proceed, and the inspection itself is included in the service price if you do go ahead.
Will any original parts be changed without my knowledge?
No, never. If a part needs replacing, we will tell you which part, why, and what it costs before touching it. Original components are preserved wherever possible, particularly on older or sentimental pieces.
Can I drop off a watch on behalf of someone else?
Yes, that is fine. We just ask that one contact person is nominated for all communication and approval of work, so there is no confusion along the way.
