What People Have Said

I brought in a Seiko 5 that had been in a drawer for about four years. Kritsana looked at it while I waited, explained that the movement needed a full clean, and gave me a price before doing anything. Two weeks later it was running within a few seconds a day. The timing machine printout was a nice touch — I could actually see the difference.

I wear my daily watch swimming in the river quite often, and it started feeling a bit sluggish after last rainy season. The seal renewal was done in a single day and included a pressure test I had not expected. The watch feels more solid since then. The only small thing — parking near the Tha Phae area can be tricky, so give yourself extra time.

My grandfather's Longines needed care but I was worried about sending it somewhere that might strip the original finish. Lanna Horology was exactly what I was looking for — they discussed every step with me, kept the aged dial and hands untouched, and returned it running. The photographs and written record they provided are now kept with the watch box.

Found them when searching for somewhere trustworthy to service my vintage Omega. The communication throughout was clear — they found a worn jewel during the clean and called before replacing it. Small thing, but that kind of honesty is exactly what I want from a watchmaker. Very happy with the result and will be back.

I drove down from Chiang Rai specifically to have my father's old Swiss watch looked at. The team was calm, took time to explain the condition of the movement, and quoted a fair price without rushing me. The result took about three weeks — expected, given the age of the piece. Would recommend to anyone willing to make the trip.

I was in Chiang Mai for a month and dropped in my dive watch for a seal check before heading somewhere humid. It was done the next day, pressure tested, and came back clean. The price was very fair compared to what I would have paid back home. English was no issue at all, the staff explained everything clearly.

Service Stories

A Closer Look at Three Repairs

These are not polished stories — they are summaries of real jobs and what was actually involved.

The Situation

A client brought in a 1974 Seiko automatic that had not run for two years. Previous attempts by a local shop had left the movement in worse shape, with a screw slightly stripped.

What We Did

Full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning of all parts, new mainspring, careful extraction of the damaged screw with a replacement sourced from our vintage parts inventory, regulation to +6 sec/day.

The Outcome

Watch running reliably at +6 seconds per day across all positions. Client collected three weeks later with a written summary and timing machine readings from both before and after servicing.

"I had given up on this watch. Getting it back running was more than I expected."

— Client, Chiang Mai

The Situation

A daily-wear Citizen diver was losing water resistance. The crown had become stiff and the watch was fogging inside on hot days — a sign that moisture was entering.

What We Did

Case opened, interior dried and cleaned, all gaskets replaced including the caseback seal and crown tube. Pressure tested to 10 ATM. Crown mechanism lubricated and adjusted.

The Outcome

No further fogging. Crown operates normally. Job completed same day; client collected on their lunch break. Total time from drop-off to collection: under 5 hours.

"Faster than I thought, and they actually tested the water resistance rather than just saying they had replaced the seal."

— Client, Chiang Mai

The Situation

A family brought in their grandmother's Swiss manual-wind watch, dating from the late 1960s. The original dial had been repainted at some point — they wanted it made wearable without further alteration.

What We Did

Movement fully serviced; hands cleaned gently by hand to preserve existing patina; case brushed but not polished to retain its age. Written record produced with before photographs. Timeline was four weeks, agreed in advance.

The Outcome

Watch returned keeping time to within 15 seconds per day — acceptable for a movement of this age. Character preserved entirely. Family keeps the service record and photographs with the watch.

"We trusted them with something that cannot be replaced. They treated it accordingly."

— Client family, Chiang Mai
